The New England Amateur Golf Tour
The New England Amateur Golf Tour (NE Am Tour) sets itself apart from most tours by providing membership to not only men, but women and junior golfers alike.
The NE Am Tour has members of all skills and abilities, with handicaps ranging from plus 2 all the way to 28.
There are several unique features that the New England Am Tour offers and tournaments run as follows:
Groups will be split into foursomes and threesomes in order to keep up with normal pace of play for a more enjoyable experience. Tee times may be 10 to 15 minutes apart . Some tee times may vary based on the format being played or the course.
All tournaments played will use two methods of scoring: gross and secondly a stableford scoring system using point based on handicaps. We offer competitions in division 1 for handicaps 12 and under using the stableford scoring system and also stroke play for this flight. In division 2 handicaps are 13 and up using the stableford scoring as well.
We guarantee prize payouts for at least the top 3 finishers in each division and sometimes further down the board based on size of the field. Small portions of each entry fee will tally towards a final league payout based on our season long points system that is based on the FedEx Cup scoring system the PGA Tour follow. Payouts will be during the playoffs at season end for all qualified players.
There will always be additional optional opportunities to earn money such as compensation for low score, longest drive, closest to the pin and net and gross skins.
The NE Am Tour offers several types of formats such as Individual, best ball tournaments, shamble formats and scramble events. We will also host a Ryder Cup Tournament.
We offer a truly unique competitive Tour Golf experience unlike anything else available with true transparency of how money is allocated towards future prizes and playoff prize pools. The NE AM TOUR follows the PGA Tour Schedule of events and scoring systems. There may be some rule exceptions depending on the formats and course conditions and also time of the year.
We also use FED EX CUP points system for season long standings. This means you can play in as little or as many events as you want while still having a chance to make playoffs at the end of the season. Each member must have a USGA handicap, but if you don’t have one we will start you off with one and use your tournament rounds and future rounds to get you set up with one. We can also offer you a handicap service for an additional charge as needed.
Most importantly we intend to offer a comfortable, yet competitive atmosphere of golf for everyone. We invite you to come out and have fun golfing while meeting new people who also have a passion for golf. We will give you the opportunity to make some new friends, hopefully put some money in your pocket, pick up a trophy or …. enhance your game to the level to be sponsored onto the PGA TOUR!
